Here is a kolam with lot of lines and concentric curves. This one is inspired from http://mykolam.blogspot.com/.
காலினில் வழிந்த தயிர் கமலமலர்க்கோலமிட கையில் வழி வாரும் வெண்ணை கானக்குழல் மூடியிட..... So go the mellifluous lines of Uthukkad Venkata Subbaiyer’s `Vandhadhuvum Ponadhuvum’, describing the playful nature of Krishna. Each kolam is a piece of art – a poem in itself. Here is a collection of beautiful kolams made by Sethulakshmi Ranganathan and Poornima Srikanth. The curd that fell on the little lord’s feet gave way to beautiful kolams. Let these kolams too blossom at His lotus feet…

Kolam at a Kalyana Mandapam
Doing a kolam for a special occassion at a Mandapam is certainly very different from doing it at home.
I usually resort to making the kolams with my hands. To make the kolam look bold and elegant, the lines are slightly thicker, and the preference is for bold and prominent designs, and not delicate or detailed ones.

Onam 2011
This year's Onam was at our new place of residence. The garden is just getting set. So no more lavish nandyaar vattas to add the white serence look. So the theme this time was `Wild Flowers'. Touch me not flowers and tamarind tree leaves adorned the pookalams, to give a `naadan' welcome to King Mahabali.
And the final finale...
And a kolam with only floral patterns to go with it...
